Softball Team supports AD's wife's fight against Breast Cancer

With Softball and baseball competing in scrimmages in the fall to help define their teams, they often play four year institutions to one, play good competition and two, allow the four year institutions to scout the LCC players.  With the LCC softball team, they also used this as an opportunity to show support for their Athletic Director's (Greg Mallek) Wife's (Tracy Mallek) fight against breast cancer.  Over the past four years Tracy has fought two bouts of brain cancer and was diagnosed with breast cancer in early April 2018.  In an effort to support the Mallek family a local sports apparel shop, Sandlot Sports, created a "Team Tracy" t-shirt for individuals to purchase to show their support for Greg, Tracy and their family.  Dinger's Apparel, was able to obtain the logo created and supply the shirts for the softball program.

Upon seeing this, the LCC Softball program was able to purchase Team Tracy T-shirts, have their numbers put on the back and then use them as their game jerseys for a fall ball double header at Northwoood University on October 5th, 2018.  With October being national Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Northwood University being close to the Mallek family home, this was the perfect opporutnity for the LCC Softball program to show their support for the Malleks and all breast cancer survivors.  As all the athletic programs are at Lansing Community College, everyone is family.
