Cross Country picks up ahead of where they left off

After two meets in the books both the women's and men's cross country teams are ranked in the top 5 in the latest NJCAA national rankings, Rankings.  The men being ranked 3rd in the country and the women ranked 1st.  This was the first competition of the 2016 Cross Country season in which the Lady Stars are the defending National Champions and where the men finished 14th.

The first meet the Stars competed in was the Olivet Invitational with the men taking 8 of the top 13 finishing positions The men were led by Sophomore Dylan Rocha and Freshman Landon Honsinger who finished 5th and 6th overall followed by Alex Ross (freshman) , Carson Alexander (sophomore) and Shawn Bell (Freshman) capping of the top five for LCC who score.

The Lady stars almost completed a perfect score by taking 5 of the top 7 with the top 4 spots all going to the Lady Stars.  Casey Mossholder (Freshman), Melissa Ricci (Freshman), Kaitlin Beyer (sophomore) and Ashley Linderman (freshman) were the top four finishers overall for the meet and Casey Hadaway (sophomore) to finish 7th and round out the runners who scored.

With their second meet, Spartan Invitational, in the books, the LCC runners are on pace to dominate another season of conference and regional action for community colleges.  Both teams were the top finishers at the Spartan Invitational for all community colleges competing.
