Great Weather as Lady Stars Compete with diverse field

With temperatures reaching the high 70's, the LCC Stars competed well in the heat. The women's team took to the line first to run the 6k around Forest Akers Golf Course hosted by the Michigan State Spartans. Leading the Stars was Kirsten McGahan in 58th place with a time of 23:36, followed closely by Ashley Lindeman in a time of 24:05 in 71st place. Taylor Ward was 121st place with a time of 25:08, again with another Star hot on her heels was Emma Fifarek in 125th place with a time of 25:18. Rounding out the top 5 scorers was, Emma Distelrath in 165th place with a time of 26:29. Another teammate close behind was Emily Wohlfert with 26:30 in 167th place. The Stars then had Alyssa Mankey in 198th place with 27:19, Autumn Tuck in 201st place with 27:25, Ericka Lathrop in 27:40 for 211th place, Annika Croswhite in 28:27 for 230th place, and Hayley Dack in 30:02. placing 262nd.  There were 4 community college teams competing in the same race as NCAA Divisions 1, 2, 3, and NAIA divisions.  LCC women placed 2nd in their division. The lady Stars will be in Louisville, Kentucky in two weeks to continue to gain race experience and fitness towards their post-season goals.
