4 Stars Ranked in This Year’s “Perfect Game Top 300 JUCO Prospects List”

Four of Lansing Community College baseball players were just recently ranked in Perfect Game's 2020 top 300 JUCO prospects in the country list.

Zach Fruit, a sophomore right handed pitcher and Eastern Michigan University commit comes in at the number 237th spot.  Fruit has a solid frame, going about 6'4 205 lbs.  His fastball has life and works anywhere from 89-93mph.  He will have a huge roll for the Stars this year out of the pen, and closing out games.

Andrew Carson, a 6'2 195 lb. uncommitted sophomore comes in at 261st on the list.  He is a University of Bowling Green transfer.  Carson will have a key role for the Stars this year as a weekend starter.  His fastball sits around 90mph, but has the ability to run it up to 93-94mph.

Ben Riffe, a right handed 6'3 200 lb. freshman is next on the list, coming in at 264.  Riffe is coming off a Tommy John surgery in high school, and is fully healthy.  He has an electric arm, which was on full display this Fall as he sat 88-91mph.  Like Carson, he will look to have a big role as a weekend starter for the Stars this Spring.

Calvin Johnston comes in on the list at the 291st spot.  Johnston is a very physical and athletic freshman.  The 6'3 230 lb.  Johnston will help the Stars this Spring both on the mound and with the bat.  He has been up to 89mph on the mound and will add some power to the Stars lineup.

Other notable Players:

Seth Marano is a left handed pitcher who returns to Lansing Community College for his sophomore season after going 8-0 as a starter last year.  Marano has committed to play at the University of Toledo next year.

Rhett Evans, a sophomore middle infielder and right handed pitcher, is committed to Northwood University for next year.  Evans hit over .400 in 113 at bats last year, and will be a staple in the Stars lineup.
