To the Victors go the spoils

With the conclusion of the baseball season all that's left to do is accept the awards.  With a second consecutive 40 win season and conference championship the Stars Baseball team has accumulated numerous awards.  Leading the way was Wyatt Rush (Freshman, Grand Ledge, MI) who garnered Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Eastern Conference Player of the Year (POY)and Freshman of the Year honors.  He appeared in 14 games as a pitcher winning 10 and losing 3 with a 2.09 era with 86 strikeouts.  With his POY honors he was 1st Team All Conference, All MCCAA and All Region.  He will be nominated for All American as well.

Along with Rush, Hunter Ruhstorfer (Sophomore, Haslett, MI) also earned 1st Team All Conference and All MCCAA honors batting .429 with 4 home runs and leading he league in triples. Alex Strickland (Freshman, Traverse City, MI) and Michael Stygles (Freshman, DeWitt, MI) earned 3rd Team All Conference and All Freshman Team for the Stars.  Rounding out the awards for the players were Keaghan Sutliff (Sophomore, Ovid, MI), Drew Cantrell (Sophomore, Gladwin, MI) Cam Fewless (Sophomore, Traverse City, MI), and Michael Mahar (Freshman, South Lyon, MI) earning All Conference Honorable Mention honors. Mahar also earned All Freshman Team honors.  

Rounding out the awards for the Stars was Coach Drew Huard earning his second MCCAA Eastern Conference Coach of the Year Award.
